Privacy policy

What SNN Systems collects, who processes it, and how to have it deleted.

Last updated

1. Who is responsible

SNN Systems, the software studio operated by Shahriar Nasim Nafi in Bangladesh, decides how the data described here is handled. Contact: contact@snnsystems.com.

2. This website collects nothing

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from a third party. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, no embedded widget, no session storage and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Every page is a static file. All fonts are the ones already installed on your device, so no font is fetched from an outside server. No JavaScript runs on any page of this site.

You can check this yourself: open your browser's network panel and reload. Every request goes to this domain, and no cookie is written.

One caveat. The site is delivered by a hosting provider, and like any web host it processes the technical details every request carries, such as your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and the time, so that it can serve the page and block attacks. That processing is the host's own, under its own terms. The studio does not add analytics on top of it and does not receive a per-visitor record from it.

3. Email

If you email the studio, the message, your email address and anything you attach are held so that the conversation can be answered and referred back to later, for example to check the history of a support case or a refund. Support and sales correspondence is kept for up to 3 years from the last message, then deleted. Email relating to an order is kept as long as the transaction records described below.

4. Purchases

Paddle.com Market Ltd acts as merchant of record and processes all payments. Paddle collects and handles your payment details directly. Card numbers and bank details are never sent to, seen by, or stored by the studio, and the studio has no ability to charge your card itself. Paddle also calculates and remits sales tax and VAT, and issues your invoice. Paddle's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy notice as an independent controller for those purposes.

From Paddle, the studio receives and stores the order record:

  • your name and the email address used at checkout;
  • your country, and the tax treatment applied;
  • the product bought, the amount, the currency and the transaction reference;
  • the licence keys issued for the order and where they are activated.

This is used to issue and support your licence, to answer questions about the order, to process refunds and to keep the accounting records the law requires.

5. The products themselves

This policy covers this website, email to the studio, and purchases. Chwilio and Heedpost each handle data in their own right. A desktop application that opens files on your own machine and a hosted service that stores content you and your customers post are very different things. Each product's own site carries the privacy notice that applies to it, and that notice governs your use of that product.

6. Why this is lawful

Where data-protection law of the kind found in the UK and EU applies, the studio relies on: performance of a contract for order records, licensing and support; legal obligation for tax and accounting records; and legitimate interests for answering correspondence and for keeping the site and service secure. No processing here relies on consent, and none of it involves automated decision-making or profiling.

7. Who else sees your data

The studio does not sell your data, does not rent it, and does not share it for anyone's marketing. It is disclosed only to: Paddle, for payment and tax; the email provider that carries the studio's mail; the studio's hosting provider; and any authority where disclosure is legally required.

8. International transfers

The studio operates from Bangladesh, and its suppliers operate internationally, so data covered by this policy may be processed outside your own country, including outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where the law requires a safeguard for such a transfer, the studio relies on the mechanisms offered by the supplier concerned, such as the standard contractual clauses in its suppliers' data processing terms.

9. How long things are kept

  • Order and invoice records: 7 years, to satisfy tax and accounting requirements.
  • Licence and activation records: for the life of the licence, then 12 months.
  • Support and sales email: up to 3 years from the last message.

10. Your rights

Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask for processing to be restricted, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask for your data in a portable format.

11. How to request deletion

Email contact@snnsystems.com with Data request in the subject line, saying what you want done. Include the email address the studio holds for you, and the Paddle order reference if your request concerns a purchase. This is how the request is matched to a record, and a request that cannot be matched cannot be actioned.

  • Requests are acknowledged within 7 days.
  • They are completed within 30 days. If a request is complex you will be told before that deadline and given a date.
  • There is no charge.

One limit worth stating plainly: invoice and transaction records cannot be deleted on request while the law still requires them to be kept. Everything not caught by that requirement is deleted. Deleting payment data held by Paddle is a request you make to Paddle, and the studio will point you to the right place if you ask.

If you think a request has been handled badly, raise it through the complaints process. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.

12. Children

Nothing here is directed at children, and the studio does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent the studio personal data, email and it will be deleted.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of the page changes with it. A change that materially affects how your data is handled will be announced by email to customers on record.
